How do I add a user ID to the segment, and is there a maximum limit for segmentation?
The ability to add user IDs and create segments is available for users on the Scale plan and higher.
How to Add a User ID to a Segment
- Go to the Users tab: Beamer Users.
- Use the filters to create segments based on specific criteria, including user ID. Add a semicolon between user IDs to include multiple user IDs.
- You can filter by:
- is: The field must exactly match the specified value.
- is not: The field must not match the specified value.
- contains: The field must include the specified value.
- does not contain: The field must exclude the specified value.
- has any value: The field must have any value, regardless of what it is.
- is unknown: The field must be empty or undefined.
- Choose between OR or AND operators to refine your segment based on multiple conditions.
Note: You can segment an unlimited number of filters based on your criteria.
Save Segment Feature
You can also create preset filters by using the Save Segment feature in Beamer. Here’s how:
After setting up your desired filters to segment users:
- Click on the Save Segment option to store that filter configuration.
- You can give the segment a name, making it easy to reuse later.
- These segments can later be viewed and managed easily from the left-hand panel under the Segments section.
Note: When using filters, be aware of the following character support:
- Supported Characters: Letters (A-Z, a-z), Numbers (0-9), and symbols (commas, underscores).
- Not Supported: Special characters like apostrophes (‘), quotation marks (“), and some other punctuation marks may not be supported in filters.
